Jeannie Garcia, Christian actress, Faith Flix interview

Striving to be Light in a Dark Industry – Model/Actress Jeannie Garcia

I’m often approached by parents of children and teens worried because their children are wanting to break into the entertainment industry. The parents wonder if it’s possible to maintain Christian values while working in a very secular industry. I guide them as best as I can, but now I’m excited to be able to share Jeannie Garcia’s first hand account of the struggles she faced as a professional model and actress and how she ultimately dealt with it.

Reaching the Lost in Los Angeles – With Trey and Ariel Fernald of Eastern Sky Theatre

Several years ago at the Truth Awards, The Last Appeal movie swept the awards ceremony. It was the first I’d heard of it, but I found the lead actress mesmerizing as she accepted one award after another. Soon after, I got to watch the film at the GloryReelz Christian Film Festival, and I was able to see for myself what all the fuss was about. It was unlike anything I’d seen before, and was one of those movies that stuck with me, keeping me thinking about it months later.

Trey and Ariel Fernald and their Eastern Sky Theatre team are the real deal. Not only are they extremely talented and dedicated artists, but they truly care about the lost and the hurting. Many Christian filmmakers talk about using faith-based films as ministry. Eastern Sky Theatre is actually doing it.

How to Add Authenticity to Your Period Film

I love period films! They take us back in time, reminding us of our personal past or introducing us to worlds we’ve never experienced. Period films can connect with audiences in a way that contemporary movies can’t.

Warning – Changes Ahead

In spring 2013 I began Faith Flix as a way to promote low budget Christian movies. My goal was to help spread the word about films that were largely being ignored by the rest of the world. I began interviewing filmmakers, actors, and crew members, sharing their stories with new audiences.

How a First Time Director Landed a Distribution Deal – With Brad Podowski

Almost every week I get a request from a filmmaker who’s seeking distribution and isn’t sure what to do. While there are plenty of articles on the subject, oftentimes, it just helps to hear from someone else who’s been there and done that. So here’s Brad Podowski’s story.

All Saints movie review, filmmaking, case study

Learn From the Masters – All Saints

When I first started Faith Flix my desire was to help filmmakers promote their low budget Christian movies. But over the years, my mission has transitioned to helping filmmakers raise their bar and create higher level projects. With that in mind, I’m beginning a new series designed to study high quality films and analyze what it is that makes them successful. We begin with All Saints which released this past weekend.

Crossflix Internet Television Network – Review

In the years since we released our first movie, we’ve seen dramatic shifts in the industry. DVDs are slowly fading away as consumers steer instead towards streaming services. Besides Netflix, which is geared towards a mass market audience, many smaller companies are focused on faith-based and family entertainment. Crossflix is one of the newer ones to enter the market.
