Celebrating a Faith Flix Milestone

This month marks an important milestone for Faith Flix. It was in February 2013 that I attended the National Religious Broadcasters Convention for the first time. Fred and I were hired by a Christian magazine to shoot video and still photography. I fell in love with the atmosphere, watching all the interviews, meeting all the exciting people, observing all the connections being made. I vowed that the next year we would return as our own press outlet.

So I went home, began planning and writing, and the following week Faith Flix was birthed. Since that time I’ve shared 446 blog posts, interviewed hundreds of fascinating folks, reviewed books, movies, and music, attended other industry events, but the highlight of my year each year is the NRB Convention. Something about the atmosphere keeps drawing me back.

Over the years our focus at NRB has shifted. Some years we’ve attended the sessions and wrote about those. Other times we’ve attended movie screenings and written reviews. Each year we’ve done interviews. This year we are only doing interviews, which is good, because we’ve been deluged with opportunities to chat with so many fascinating folks. We had so many requests, in fact,  that we’ve had to branch out.  I’ll be interviewing 29 filmmakers, actors, authors, and artists on Tuesday and Wednesday, then on Wednesday, Brittany and Clay (our daughter and son-in-law) will be doing Facebook live interviews with an additional 11 filmmakers, authors, and ministry leaders. It’s going to be a jam-packed two days, but what a treat we’re all in for!

Be on the lookout for social media updates, photos, and videos coming up this week and in the weeks to come. Also, if you’re going to be at NRB, let me know, and we’ll say “hi” and squeeze in a picture together. 🙂
