I’ve always enjoyed studying history. Of special interest is how curriculum and media changes with the times and influences society. Abduction, by Steve Feazel and Dr. Carol M. Swain, is an excellent study of how liberalism has taken over schools, music, movies, and television.
Nowadays we’re bombarded with opinion pieces disguised as research. This book is not hearsay but instead is chock full of references including a thirty plus page bibliography. It’s filled with documented examples of news events and trends that are shocking and scary. Some of these I was aware of, many were new to me.
Despite all the information packed into the three hundred pages, it’s an easy read. I especially appreciated the inclusion of quotes from founding fathers and other historical figures contrasted with the views of modern individuals.
This is a must read for anyone wishing to understand what’s happened in the educational world and media over the past few decades and how it’s influencing today’s younger generation. It should be required reading for all parents of children and teens.
