When did you first develop an interest in acting?

My interest in acting began on the set of an independent feature film in the fall of 2012, The Identical. I worked as background on a few occasions but also as a  featured extra and in the final scene of the film as a Hand-Insert. More work came as the lead’s Photo Double and Stand In. Up close exposure to Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd’s work was the primary inspiration for my interest in acting. Afterwards, I enrolled in workshops, classes, and more importantly, discovered an acting coach local to Nashville but spent 20 years in CA.

What was your first film role?

I played the role of a volunteer, Eric, in a soup kitchen scene opposite the lead Joel Smallbone, in the film Like A Country Song.

What faith-based films have you been a part of?

Like A Country Song and The Good Book. The interesting thing about this work was that my daughter who met the AD of Like A Country Song in a restaurant mentioned that her dad was “over the top with the acting thing”, that eventually got the gig for me. Thanks Marilee, Dad loves you!

What other films/television projects have you been in?

A handful of short films headed for the festival circuit including, Embalmer’s Gray and The Kidnapping of Pukie Smith. Also a few 48 hour and student films along with small parts in 11 Seconds, Nashville, and Necessary Roughness.

Tell us about your role in Johnny Dynamo.

In reality I play the actor (Robert Pierce Mitchell)  who had great success in the role of a 1980’s fictional TV action hero by the name of  Johnny Dynamo (his claim to fame 20 years ago). The role of Johnny Dynamo doesn’t actually exist except in the historical and fictional sense of the word. There are no lines, scripts or any film of Johnny Dynamo. That being said our crew and cast frequently run into ‘fans’ who insist they actually ‘remember’ Johnny Dynamo!

The most intriguing aspect of the role is the fact ‘Bobby’ is an actor striving for success in the film industry, something I can obviously relate to.

What projects do you have in the works?

I’ve been cast as the lead in a film about a corporate lawyer who nearly looses everything valuable in life. I describe it as It’s a Wonderful Life meets Twilight Zone. A film that may come to mind might be Family Man but sans the comedy. The project is in development and is called Shine. I’m also involved in a couple of other Web Series.

What is your ultimate film goal?

Leading Man, couple of films a year.

I know firsthand that you don't have to spend a fortune to make a good movie, and you can tell a powerful story without ever saying a word. My desire with Faith Flix is to educate, inspire, and encourage my fellow filmmakers. I know that Christian filmmakers can make better movies, but it takes education and hard work. I'll help with the education and leave you to do the hard work.
